8 o'clock revised chart has 932mb from 931mb and again I think the gradient is a little tighter the initial 9 o'clock chart is at 931mb and pressure gradient still tightening

winds really seem to be starting to pick up here with a few decent gusts blowing things around outside temps in my area hovering around 3c dew points just below freezing around -0.4c 959mb pressure

also UK rainfall totals for the last 24hrs

Shower clouds heading over now (MIDLOTHIAN), few spits and spots, sure they will start to get a bit beefier . Noticably gustier now also. Reports of snow amongst the showers further west??

What a shift BUS, didn't notice your post at half two a.m, busy with the wee guy who decided to have another all night rave. Nothing to do with Santa arriving, just because he likes being up all night most of the time..!

Snawbag ® (Scottishskier) not as deep as predicted on last night GFS run, Meto Faxes from this morning and for midnight.

post-7292-0-67443500-1387876031_thumb.gipost-7292-0-72138900-1387876032_thumb.gi

Even without the depth, that's a solid 18 hours of potential gales.

post-7292-0-14197300-1387876317_thumb.pnpost-7292-0-25099900-1387876319_thumb.pnpost-7292-0-19972100-1387876321_thumb.pn

Snawbag Â® delivering healthy Snaw for some parts, turning to sleetbag elsewhere.

post-7292-0-74941900-1387876470_thumb.pnpost-7292-0-46640500-1387876471_thumb.pn

South Uist has reached 75mph, Cairngorms at elevation exceeding 100mph. http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/weather/maps/current?LANG=en&CONT=ukuk&LAND=SCO&KEY=SCO&SORT=3&UD=0&INT=06&TYP=windspitzen&ART=tabelle&RUBRIK=akt&R=310&CEL=C&SI=mph

Friday looks to have calmed down a bit also with less of an extreme solution present on the morning model output, gone are the c930mb depths.

So, Snawbag Â® not as violent as Bawbag, which in all honesty am pretty happy about as it means many folks can enjoy Xmas Day tomorrow without other concerns, still a pretty wild day out there..

Just been for a run round Arthurs Seat, great fun! Was a short hailstorm at one point and some real gusts then but overall it's not bad at all, certainly no worse than any other windy day

Suppose that's a good thing given it's xmas but looks like they've had it worse down south

In work now killing time until we hopefully get chucked out early. On drive in at 9am it was quite blustery but nothing more than what we've had recently. Temp is sitting around 3C and very little cloud around.

For comparison, using the weather station data at Dyce Int Airport, on Thu 19th we had sustained winds of around 30Kn and a top gust of 57Kn. So far today we've had 20Kn & 40Kn respectively so lets see how high we get and if we an beat last Thursdays values.

Edit: BUS, how much caffeine you had? You seem more hyper than my 6yr old has been the last couple of days waiting on Xmas day.

Braigh has been closed due to the ongoing weather. High tide approaching, already over topping and debris on roadway.

Forget the blue sky, suddenly just turned very dark outside with horizontal snow. Not lying though and probably won't last long.

I think the one next to it is supposed to get absorbed by the main storm the one further away I'm not sure about

It doesnt look like they got absorbed, they still look separate on sat24, what do you think?

It's blowy outside but it's just your fairly standard blow so far (unless more is to come)?
