ATC and the pilots are earning their money tonight.

God help any of those passengers if they are scared of flying.

Still in the lull here.

Forecasts from MetO pretty much spot on so far the first front of winds through daylight hours gusting 40-60mph with a second more intense spell arriving late evening into the early hours of Xmas Eve with gusts of 60-80mph locally more, it remains to be seen whether the second front proves to be as severe as they claim but they certainly got the first wave of strong winds and heavy rain followed by a lull pretty much spot on.

Just starting to blow up again, I think it'll be at it's height around midnight to 2am based on current predictions.

So quiet out there now other then the rain, I'm getting nervous about what might arrive later.

Yes, a calm spell is not a good sign. It might mean a secondary wave depression is becoming more intense than anticipated, with a later backlash. Not saying that's happening though, as it's still windy here, although quieter than earlier. :)

Back from pub, died down a bit for a while, now starting to build up again, keep safe people and also enjoy the rollercoaster.

After the calm respite for the past hour or so, the wind has really began to pick up again...

Indeed it is lol Posted Image Anyone who was foolish enough to think it was over and venture out is going to regret it now!

Kicking up again here in Epsom....garden that slopes towards front door is already flooded, 3" outside front door :( God knows what it will be by morning, up to doorstep already...

This seems a lot worse than Jude but with a lot less warning/hype? A lot of people took the Mick out of Jude so then the Met/Press are less likely to make such a big fuss for the next storm - when its really needed!!xxx

The wind here died from a previous 25mph sustained wind at 18:00 hours (1001mb) to 18mph just an hour ago. Now gusting at 40mph and and an air pressure of 984mb and falling. Stay safe folks, will be offline now until the morning. I hope you all come through this without any personal or material loss!

I would call the firebragade as it is a risk to your property and they can come and pump the water away

Completely agree with that, this storm has the potential to be more comparable with previous big storms in 1987, 1990, and 2002 just as a few examples then that blink or you'll miss it Jude storm!
