Failure number 2 then :-D

I wonder how many more fails the Midlands can clock up before new year?  Posted Image

Quite heavy rain reached Solihull about 5 minutes ago.

Temperature still 5C, but falling.

One can but hope.....  and thanks Dancer that did cheer me up.

It was hardly going to be a major snow event was it just a few flakes and even that mainly for high ground!

I think some expected far too much from this. It was always going to be mostly rain/sleet at lower levels, turning to snow later in any heavier bursts.

I know that, but it's still frustrating. I just wanted to see a bit of snow falling before Christmas so I could feel more festive. I didn't expect to be skiing into town tomorrow.

Sadly I think the band came through a little earlier than I expected in the end. However it seems there maybe at least 1 more shout at something wintry before the end of next week.

had sleet/wet snow showery stuff today, not for long but its a start, now dry at 1.6C

certainly more sleet/wet snow chances coming up, between now and early new year, mild sectors of course as well, so any temporary settling snow unlikely at just 104m asl

Dancer yep it soon passed over here too. But it did give some flakes in the rain.  The most remarkable thing was the drop in the temps, it dropped from 5.1C to 2.7c when it cleared inside 15 minutes. It is now 1.6c and dropping quickly to give a very slippery night

Dancer

Yes you called ?

Yes quite cold out there now, I think ice will be a problem in the morning more so in prone areas, But regarding today Dew points were never going to be sub zero and with temps 5c-6c

to start before the rain came, It was always going to be messy........Sleet was the best i could manage.

But nice to see some folk done better Posted Image

Had a slight covering overall here...

Just rain with a few flakes mixed in here. Nice to see some of the white stuff for our Derbyshire friends to enjoy though Posted Image

The temp has suddenly tumbled to 1.8C, not going out for my usual evening walk if it's about to turn very icy.........

Was in Oldbury as the heavy rain came through. Saw the snow flakes mixing in the rain. It's a start anyway....particuarly when you consider that the talk since the start of December has been about how there's no hope of anything wintry at all this month.
