Wind and rain seem to have abated somewhat, wheelie bin is horizontal but no trees down nearby that I can see. Just wondering if it'll start up again as the low moves east- NNW is a much more exposed direction than S, SE or SW for us.

A very noisy night here, although obviously nothing compared to what people further north and west have endured. One fence panel completely blown off, the highest one in our garden, must have caught the worst of the wind. Easily the strongest wind this winter by far. Still howling now, not as bad as during the night.

Edit: Here's the proof!

No doubt about it IMO, last night was comfortably windier than a few days ago. Some of the gusts after midnight were genuinely scary.

Still pretty bad right now as well, although it seems to be gradually easing.

Mean speed at 340 mts is 45 mph, gusting to 66 mph. It's certainly windy but not up to the level which destroyed my fence and pergola on the 5th.

Still rather gusty here but hazy sunny spells thus far, absolutely disgusting outlook today, all those signs for finally getting something colder next week have *shock horror* vanished, I think if I have another look last night's 'spirits' might come back up

Looks like a nasty squall line approaching on the radar. Bank of dark clouds coming in from the NW.

Same here as well. Some of the gusts last night were good old-fashioned Roof Rattlers (and a few other things besides)!

Conveyor belt of showers lining up to the SW.

Hail Caesar! Sorry... Posted Image felt like it lol..

Talking of hail, we're getting it by the bucketful right now!

Three very intense showers have zipped through inside the past ninety minutes, the latest one turned the sky as dark as night.
