A brand new thread in time for what could be the first glimpse of the white stuff this winter for some of us :)

Rain again now- as for cheering up well I do try, but after over 20 years here and so many letdowns optimism doesn't come easily. Remember Christmas Day 1999 with its one sleet shower- that was it for wintry precipitation that winter :-)

At least it fell on the most important day of the year.

And it was an absolute joke that Christmas Day 2010, with a minimum of -12C and 15cm of snow on the ground, would not have paid out at the bookies while that day would. The weather equivalent of John Terry' s prancing about with the Champions League trophy while the guys that actually played skulked in the background Posted Image

Very overcast now, although the rain/hail/snow probably won't arrive here until just after dark.

Temp currently 5.6C with a DP of 1.3C

Not particularly snowy looking skies over this way, they have rain written all over them.

Hopefully things will kick start off just after dark I hope!

Looks like the heavier stuff, which I presume is the more likely wet snow, is heading further North to the Stoke area and down here we will get the lighter stuff which will be rain.

Just stuck my head out the window and could have sworn I heard a rumble in the direction of Wenlock.

Was in shrewsbury before and thought the same

Some definite sleetiness to the rain here now just as it moves away, temp 2.1c, if there was some heavier stuff on offer would definitely turn more wintry.
