Just watched the model sequence for Friday's storm and it currently looks further south than today's with the centre crossing Scotland, something which would, if it behaves normally bring the strongest of the winds across Northern England.

Obviously it's still a few days away and changes may occur but as it stands that will be worse for our region than the current one, although we've still got tomorrows round two to get through.

The Friday's storm system is shifted further north on the 12z GFS. I told you it gonna be a downgrade. Posted Image

12z GFS ^^ quite further north. The poor scots will be battered by it.

I personally am quite glad that Fridays event is downgrading-upgrades for blizzards and snow I will happily accept but winds of 70mph are quite damaging-more so than a dumping of snow

Your right that as it stands it is a fair bit further north than shown earlier but that's not a downgrade, only a shift of emphasis.

As you say Scotland, including the central belt will get battered by this; not good news for those heading north for Hogmany.

However we are still a fair way out yet and it could head still further north and take the strongest winds up towards Iceland and the Faroes or start to show itself further south again and bring more of the UK, ourselves included into the firing line.

My fiver says north though as has been the case all through this spell of storms.

In the meantime, i'm looking forward to a brighter day tomorrow and Christmas day but will heavy blustery showers dumping some of the white stuff IMBY.

Others can have the storms if that's what exxctes them.

No it's not an error,it'll just shift 200 miles south at the last minute.

2 people has died from the severe weather which is located in Snowdonia and the Lake District which is not under the weather warning. I'm feel sad for them. They didn't know what's coming. Posted Image

What?

You are going to check the weather if going out in these places, warnings or not.

Both Granada and Look North West are concerned about the weather for the region tomorrow, especially the strength of the wind with 80mph gusts mentioned.

I think that the yellow warnings will be updated by the Met O in the morning.

As for snow, it's in the forecast but will probably be an altitude thing with the Pennines, Peak District and more so the Cumbrian Fells probably seeing a  covering tomorrow.
