Had a quick look at the models after my festive break...at first glance I thought same old,then on closer inspection they are

not to bad,ok no long cold snap on the horizon,but it looks like the atlantic train is slowing down,small acorns and all that.... 

IMHO things are looking up and maybe by the second week of January things will look better if you are looking for snow

New Years eve looks horrendous, an absolute washout, was the same last year, Monday is trending wet as well, models seem now slower to move the front through

Just been woken up by hailstones

Getting a little sleet mixed in with the showers currently crossing my part of the region but at 2.6c I can't see it amounting to anything.

Its been hailstoning here now and again this morning. I'm pretty sure at one point it was trying to sleet here just briefly.

After a brief heavy hail and sleet shower the sun is out now.

Still cold though at 2.9c.

Its hailstoning again here. No doubt it will be more hailstones falling out of the sky. Blueish clouds are rain and white/beige clouds are hail in them.
