Weird looking at that it seems to be moving east mostly but with a touch of south in it. I must be seeing it wrong. I would have expected it to look like moving a touch northwards.

I keep seeing charts and things but I'm no wiser as to what the expected weather will be like here. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Just back in from my romp to the post box and it is already rather blowey out there and the worst is by far yet to arrive.  Not feeling as cool now though as the warmer air is brought in by the southerly wind.  Dull though but dry for now.

For Ipswich this evening, should be fairly heavy rain between about 8 and 11 o'clock, accompanied by strong to gale force winds. Nothing extraordinary for us just yet...

Well, Christmas is cancelled for us then. My parents fly in Dublin to Southend on a PROP plane on Saturday, my brother the same flight on Monday. They all fly back 27th Dec and me and the Mrs get a ferry to Rosslare Ireland on the 30th.

Not much of that is going to happen! Just me the Mrs and the cat then...

Heavy Snow hits the country between 1-3 of Jan Especially up north, but we will be getting snow in the south east. And again between 10-16th. Turning mild near end of month. Now i know i'm going to get hammered for this, But i would like JP if possible to give us HEADS UP when he starts to pick this up on the models.

MERRY XMAS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Steve. Sorry if I sound a bit Tuty ATM. I'm having an off day. Had a bad start on FB and I've suspended my account. :(

Best thing you can do with it IMHO,  Life should be lived not shared online.

To my un trained eye..

Look at this :

http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/orthographic=-7.66,52.38,1349

The wind speeds are being greatly under mined down here in the South...

When that front moves through I think 70MPH will easily be achieved somewhere maybe even higher!

Also.. What the hell is that in the South west?!?!?!

A few of my bookmarks that you might want to keep an eye on through this evening and beyond to monitor how things are progressing on their way to our region:

I have to go back to the 'real World' tonight and deal with anything that flies over the fence later!

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
