Tuesday warnings updated - though keep checking back. Would not be surprised to see some amber on there once they get better sight of the system and it bombs.

Very windy here on the north side of the Cairn O Mount and the snow has just started.  They sky has been getting very heavy and it is getting darker all the time so think we may get a good dumping!  On the plus side the wind is so strong it will be horizontal snow and wont lie!!

Afternoon all! Severe hailstorms on and off all day, black skies and light winds. Ach well, take it as it comes eh? Even though it does look very, very scary! What nutters are saying it doesn't look too bad? It looks worse every time I look at a chart! Anyhoo, the birdie joint is roasting, bread is made, spare bedroom tidied for arrival of Big Sis ( if she gets here, off course! ) Going to see The Hobbit part two tonight, then tomorrow hit the cr*ppy Co-op to get last food shop done. Better get in early afore we get blawn awa'! Mind how ye go folks, gauny be nasty!

Had a hail showers rattling through in through in the last half hour. Hovering around 3C so if it could just drop a little perhaps we could see a snow shower from the in coming precipitation.

I didn't manage to post an alternative Xmas song yesterday as I went to the Motherwell v St. Mirren game and then went to the pub to celebrate. I'm quite sure I went to bed last night as I woke up in there this morning.Posted Image

In keeping with the drinking theme I've got an offering from Frank Kelly, aka Father Jack from one of my favourite TV shows Father Ted. This 'song' reached 26 in the UK charts in 1984. Frank Kelly's first acting job was in the Italian Job where in the opening sequence he escorts Michael Caine out of prison.

Since I missed posting a song yesterday I will post another later.

Enjoy!Posted Image

good as well to start seeing the forecast warming on the GFS starting to come out of deep FI and starting to put some pressure on the vortex higher up

then GFS wants to throw in a warming on the Canadian side later in FI which could assist in helping to pressure the PV

Mostly dry day here although cold with a maximum of 3c and sunny intervels  Currently 1.5c and we have just had a wet snow shower

Cattle double bedded and all food for them laid out near to steading today for the next 2 days so we don"t have to go far to feed them . Wintering sheep  were shifted 2 days agio onto 5 inches of young grass  which they will still be able to access under up to 8 inches of snow and hay feeder put just into next field  in case the depth is higher.

Christmas lunch will still be OK hopefully as we have an oilfired rayburn to cook on if the power goes

There was me thinking we had a 'stay of execution' as the low has developed another centre on the 12z and is further west, taking the winds further south? Looking at those wind charts that Lorenzo has just put up, I think  I am up the Clyde on a banana boat!

Heavy showers here too which turned to wet snow for a time giving a temporary slushy cover. Currently 3C and cloudy.

Heading to Edinburgh for Christmas and then up to Aberfeldy for the 27th so hoping not too much travel disruption in the next few days.

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
