Fairly drenched out there and a few puddles are on one of the tracks.

Not quite as windy today, max gust of 31mph around midday.

Good, anything is better than the dross of the last 2 weeks

Really? I will agree to disagree with you on that one. If we can't have snow then mild and dry will do me rather than sideways rain.

High pressure and mild/hot are welcome everyday in the summer. If I cant get the cold in winter, then it's sideways rain, big seas and Severe gales all the way for me Posted Image

Jay Wynn just hinted at some snow on the moors and tors even towards the SW on the countryfile forecast, so it sounds like I won't be too far out with my prediction.

and prior to that.

Of course, not long afterwards the temporary snow at elevation will be replaced by more rain and further violent gusts of wind on Friday into Saturday.

I agree!

High pressure or settled weather is for summer when we can do stuff outside.

Really!

Must be some sort of squall going on somwhere near you then. There isn't suppose to be any damaging winds here tonight.

Its been an very windy and wet day here! According to the weather station down the road we have had 55.2mm of rain today. Lots of flooding on the moors.

Could do with some cold air with all this rain!

As karlos has said, this is a nice change to the calm, settled weather we have had recently! Unfortunately I think many will get bored of it with no sign of the low after low barrage stopping by at least 10 days time!

At least it's got the thread a bit more active :)

Quite the summer downpour this afternoon - almost felt warm as the rain arrived then cooled down a few degrees before milding up again. Still 11C outside now in fact. Looking forward to the fresher days of midweek next week.

30.1 mm rain here since it started yesterday. Could be looking at 50mm by the time we dry up in about 24 hours time.

26.5mm here to 09.00.  River Wriggle has burst its banks in several places, as has the Yeo between Sherborne and Yeovil.  Seems odd to me that a relatively small amount of rain into rivers that were very, very low has caused so much flooding.  Probably going to be worse by tomorrow.

There was quite an impressive squall go through Bristol at 11 this morning, torrential rain and strong winds while driving in it. Now just drizzly again.
