Yep. 8.2mm and counting and the wind is roaring a wee bit more now. Where folk can, especially within this region and perhaps even more so, the SE, I would leave for home early if at all possible. Not a day for the outside. Posted Image

Watch out for flying trampolines again. Don't these people take precautions beforehand. Posted Image

Clive Watts in Reading emails: Our large trampoline was lifted and wedged between our house and the neighbour's house. Winds are really getting up.

72mph gusts in plymouth. Higher winds than st judes.

The amazing thing is the longevity of the wind. Average wind speeds above 40mph since 9am.

I'm impressed with my Barometer reading of 988.7mb right now as I expect it to drop for a fair few hours yet. It was reading 1012.4mb near midnight so a good bombing there.

The wind is blowing the rain away from my vantage vue gauge hence the low reading. My manual gauge has about 8.5mm in it, still not as wet as I thought it would be.

High gust of 38mph.

Sure is a memorable event (hopefully for the right reasons though), as this Fax Chart on my link below illustrates. Posted Image

26mm here since 09.00 to approx 15 minutes ago, barometer at 987.9mb right now.  Local river is now on flood warning and I'm guessing that it won't belong before the upper Yeo joins it.

Some really strong gusts now, not looking forward to later when it looks to get worse.

Stay safe guys.

Right, I've had enough - leaving work soon (in Chichester heading east to Littlehampton via train). It's blowing a hoolie and beltling down with rain. No trees down in the next hour please!

Stay safe all.
