very gusty here at the moment as the squall passes over, moderate rain, but nothing to write home about.

Calm before the storm tomorrow, definitely looking forward to Monday Posted Image

I had no recordable rain at all! Just some gusty winds.

Annoyingly the wind blew my rain gauge over, I'm now reading 347mm rain from today, #annoyed

Can someone tell me when approximately are these winds supposed to be hitting the SW  (Bristol) on Monday.  I would like to have my daughter back home in one piece for Christmas.

Started to rain very hard in Camborne, I just checked the radar, in for a very rough hour or so, not that most people will notice as they are safely tucked up in bed except me.

The shower band went through 3-4am this morning

Captured a lightning strike off the coast. - Attached

The shower band went through with some hail & gusty winds.

We had a couple of lightning strikes and rumbling around 6:30am this morning.

A real horrid couple of days, with the wind and rain

Got caught out in the rain/sleet and hail shower yesterday morning

We had 18mm of rain yesterday, that is 67mm for the month so far

Nice hefty hail shower just passed through here. That's the closest I'm going to get to a white Christmas this year anyway.

Very turbulent atmosphere though.

For those that may not have seen it, there is a dedicated thread with lots of valuable input (aside from my jokes) in it regarding the stormy run up to Christmas.

Currently 10C and sunny. I had some sharp showers (3.4mm) this morning and a nice rumble of thunder. Posted Image

Didn't hear the Thunder, was asleep, but only had 1mm overnight. Something tells me we could be seeing some impressive totals tomorrow though!

5.2c with sunny spells.

It felt fresh walking to Oakhill this morning to pick my car up with a hangover!  Posted Image

All this hype of a great storm coming seems over the top I expect we shall see a wet and windy day with a couple of weak trees blown over.

Although tomorrow looks very windy and wet i have noticed the tone from weather forecasters come down a notch today as appossed to yesterday ,also my cousin informs me that the Met office have informed his transport company that the worst as been shunted further north so rain becoming a bigger threat to transport companys in our area .But still a very active Monday and early tuesday .Christmas day looks a fine day with slightly cooler temperatures and boxing day milder with sunny spells .Next fridays low seems to be heading much further north with high pressure pushing up from the S/west so next weekend mild but breezy ,and some signs of High pressure over spain and france setting us up for a possible very mild start to 2014 .But early days yet as the weather at 10 days is hard to model .Bumble bees visiting our pansy plants ,bulbs well and truly out ,but the weather can fool us .,remember Jan 20th 1947 extremely mild in parts of early january then the beast from the east visited for Seven weeks .Posted Image

The winds might be negotiable but the rainfall projections over the next 48 hours look startling to say the least. High res EURO4 model showing some places exceeding 100mm over the next 48 hours;

I'll do a full forecast after the 12z output tonight, but I would be prepared for some flooding around the region on the run up to Christmas.
