Worrying thing is it's still developing like a mad un...NW Scotland and N Ireland are in for a pasting tonight, very serious for them it now seems. Power cuts you name it..we'll be talking about this spell for quite some time.

Yeah and we haven't even got to next week yet which looks potentially even worse!  Posted Image Posted ImagePosted Image

112kph now in the Atlantic, roughly increasing 1kph every 10 minutes which is slightly worrying.

More then slightly worrying lol. At that rate somewhere is going to see something well in excess of 100mph, hopefully to higher ground or at sea but you never know might be something approaching that even in low lying populated areas!

If anybody wants a quiet evening come over to Sunny Sheffield the south side. Won't any wind until it swings to the west after midnight.

Really gusty here atm, over 50mph. No sign of the really strong winds over Ireland just yet.

Judging by the way things have started to build up here in the last half an hour or so I'd expect to see something approaching or maybe even exceeding 50mph by the time the evening is done so I'd think NW England will see gusts topping 70 in exposure!
