I have just text the BBC about the removal of the live updates. had a go at them, then finished with I suppose it is to cover other main news tonight. What is the priority here Lives or Deaths....

.if you want to text them the number is 61124....

I am furious because what do the warnings say ";listen to local media"....BBC are being so irresponsible.

If there was ever a need to scrap the license fee, or to have a independent weather channel in the UK set up. Tonight would be a prime example of either.

i think the news should cover mandella

but they should run a ticker update across the bottom of the screen with updates about the flooding

surely that is not to difficult

I never cared much for Mandela and I make no apologies for saying that, and personally....I think the situation in this country takes precedence over his demise.

My comments on Facebook are pretty much the same as you guys, the BBC & Sky should hold their heads in shame, absolutely dI'm posting my own warning on facebook for people on the east coast and in the fens to prepare for major flooding and to get to higher ground if possible.

At least I'm trying to do my bit! look what happened in 1953!! :-(

Flooding is expected for harbourside properties in Orford and properties in Butley, Shingle Street and surrounding marshland, the Environment Agency said.

UK certainly needs a dedicated weather channel that's for sure.

we had one years ago and no one watched it so it closed.

Surely though this is a breaking story, we know very little information so surely any sane person would only cover it for example the first 5 minutes and then return at the end of the programme for further updates, not have interviews and messages from every tom, richard (fill in the blank) and Harry for the entire programme or plastering the news websites whilst many parts of the UK are currently being submerged. It's really that simple.

Oh wait reporting and making money off celebrity deaths is now the "in" thing to do.

Rant over

Edit - Good to see some kind of feed back on the BBC.

they should cover the flooding first absolutely! the people drowning on the east coast and fens don't need to know about mandella until tomorrow, they are busy surviving!
