jolly good.and now back to the weather before we both get banned for being off topic.

confirmed as bad as 1953 now, and it appears more places affected already than was foreseen.

i wonder if i can get a local radio feed via internet? might not pick up ipswich but probably could get yarmouth, the beach or norwich.

try  radio  suffolk

Been on the phone for quite a while, everyone back home is trying to move everything to upstairs or at least off the floor. If it's really bad I will head back to help out. I think this comes before anything else including work.

evening all

I did not expect Southend to get included in the flood warnings, this could make it interesting for C2C trains in the morning, especially the run between Leigh and Benfleet....

I hope the folks on Canvey and Foulness Islands will be OK, worrying times

Stay safe

Just had a worried phonecall from Mum warning us there is a flood warning for our area and asking if we were taking precautions with the house. I had to remind her that we live on top of a hill and that if we needed to take precautions with our house then I worry for most of Kent.

Not funny when you consider this is very real for some people but I couldn't help crack a smile at her.

Good luck to everyone in any flood prone areas in the next 24hrs, I really hope the defences hold out and your not affected by the sea surge this evening and tomorrow.  Been keeping up as well as I can on BBC online, seems a few places are seeing flooding but not as bad as all those years ago.

Right...it's high tide around here at about 01:30 tomorrow. So when the surge comes, does it rush down the river like, say the Severn Boar; or does it come later.

Please forgive my ignorance. :(

For those concerned in the flood prone areas, you can also follow the dedicated thread here on netweather where there are quite a few up to date reports as well.

News reports are saying the surge is higher and arrives earlier than predicted, this is not good news at all.

Waveney warning 2043:

Waveney District Council is urging residents in threatened properties to vacate as soon as possible.

Reports suggest that the tide is far higher, far earlier than expected and residents should not wait until immediately before the predicted surge peak at about 23:00 to head to a shelter.
