More spectacular photographs from Israel's worst winter storm in decades.

......wife out tonight for xmas night out......

Mrs HS has decided to give her Dobbies Christmas meal a miss tonight which is unprecedented when it comes to Mrs HS and food, Christmas food at that. Who needs weather station data, that alone is a most complete commentary on the inclement weather today!

Bit of a breeze up here at the mo! Top gust so far 46 kts = 53mph, expecting a bit more than that tomorrow and Wednesday looks like fun as well :)

Our back fence leaning over at 45. Degrees or so. Bridge open for cars so no 80+ gusts so far.

61 mphrecorded at the Uni.

Rain blowing in but not heavy so far. Like Hawesy we have been very dry since the beginning of November.

By the end of this month that looks like it may change.

Not sure it actually got light here today, horrible outside. Was in Aberdeen watching my son's team play chase the football in a strong blustery wind (20kn, 40kn gusts at Dyce)  but luckily the parents had a building to hide behind for some shelter. Temperature still on the high side for Dec at 9C but wasn't complaining about that today, and anyway it didn't feel it. Rain was fairly light most of the time.

Those pictures of Israel etc are just so wrong looking.

Got totally soaked when walking up to Clarkston this afternoon for some charity shop shopping. I have to say the charity shops there are way over priced when it comes to pretty much everything.

I've been getting into the spirit of Xmas by making homemade Christmas crackers and listening to to Christmas songs. Thought I would post a link each day until Christmas of slightly alternative songs which may not be on your radar. Sick of hearing the likes of Mariah Carey & Slade?

Starting with 'Low' and 'Just Like Christmas'

Enjoy!Posted Image

E'ning. 9.8c was the temp high today and currently sitting at  7.3c.  37.6mph was the highest gust with 2.1mm of rain. All in all, not nearly as bad as expected.  Think others will disagree though!

Pinched this handy wee link from Twitter. It gives the Euro snow forecast for the resorts. Don't think I have ever seen central Europe looking so dry!  Scotland looks as if it might get lucky at times though if you scroll through.  (starting T108)Posted Image

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
