A nice new thread for any weather discussion in Ireland. As ever, keep it civil and broadly on topic :)

Aye that's some downgrade.! How can there be that big a swing in the models?

It happened with the last cold spell but I think the gfs is wrong this time and it will be back on board again. Edited by smithyweather

Happy days has just said 'well out to friday and the only places with snow potential are scotland and perhaps the hills of northern ireland'. Sorry babe but the gfs is showing -9c uppers with 2c maxes and snow right down to sea level; perhaps the hills

Still looking Ok! Albeit a bit East! Expecting upgrades again on the 12z!

Why wait to Saturday? The snow comes on Friday morning in the early hours. So approximately 6 days away. If it is still there tomorrow then that is 5 days away.

EDIT: now gibby has started a big rant about how its not going to happen as if it is impossible. Eugh get over it

the sun is shining .. it's a beautiful day and we need a moan and ramp thread for Ireland. First proof of 'mastery' is living in the present not wishing away weeks waiting for a wet flake of snow .

Get out and don't come in 'till dark !
