Matt Taylor from the bbc weather says '' the peak of the storm will hit the north-west during lunchtime with storm surges''.

Some winds here is violent now let alone lunchtime.

It's been horrendous in Heswall, the wind gust has peaked 64mph with the wind straight off the estuary, sporadic damage, sounds like a train in going through the place. Wind is not reliquishing, Im going to the north coast later with the camera, I figure the best waves will be in New Brighton.

Still 8c here but feels colder in the wind

will be interesting later when the rain band clears the Temps are going to drop like a stone

tomorrow morning will bring  different hazard in the form of ice

C.S

Just to add northern parts of the region could see a brief spell of snow tomorrow as the next front bumps

into the cold air

Seagulls here are loving the storm right now. Wind and rain are really picking up here now.

The weather front just now passed here, saw some clear skies to the north now. Turning alot colder now.

Heres comes the peak now.

Any idea what time the wind is supposed to ease off, need to go out to get bolts and heavy duty fastenings for my big gates but can't as I have had to use my car to wedge them shut., so stuck in for now. Would have gone to Crosby beach otherwise!
