Wind is really picking up here. It is achieving a sustained level, as well as ever increasing gust. Temperature is slowly on the increase pre cold front, 8.5 °C.

Already gusting to 54 MpH at the MO station on Crosby beach were I shall be heading later.

It is getting worse. Am sat in my conservatory and i hope it holds up !!!!! Feels like im sat in the middle of the garden. The winds are increasing all the time

Yeah, god knows what it will be like on the beach later. I fully expect the tide to be over the seawall into the car park.

The wind has a sustained level as well as just gusting. I would've thought we will be included in the amber warning later.

I agree Chris. It is only early on yet and i think the winds were to increase from 9am onwards . It will be wild sat at Crosby beach though !!!! And i bet you wont be the only one there !!!

Well I bet the ice-cream van won't be there for one thing! Could do with the hotdog van being there though lol!

Same here, winds woke me about 6 ish and have increased a lot since then. Just let my dog out the back and nearly lost the door. No walkies until later

Woooowwww Glen Ogle in central Scotland, latest met office observations: wind 76 MpH, gusting 106 MpH!

The wind has blown open my big side gates and bashed the front of my car, had a right struggle trying to push them both back,......... heavy duty fastenings needed asap!
