Hailstones sideways rain and thunder... The squall has arrived

Had a crack of thunder here in Egham with a brief spell of heavyish rain and gusty winds - all quiet and grey again now. Nothing very impressive.

The squall has reached us at work in Dartford. Hail and what looks like small flakes of wet snow blowing in the wind. Lasted all of 3 minutes!

It was all over within 10 minutes but great while it lasted. Some wet snow on the back edge for a couple of minutes. It's on it's way to you now Robin.

 

Hope it's at lunchtime, I'll grab some 'on the spot' reporter type footage with a bit of luck.

Hailstones and thunder and heavy rain here in Reigate, swirling winds, leaves coming off the trees at a rate of knots!

Ditto here. Rain, thunder, hail and very gusty wind.  All over in 15 mins.  Its going to take me a lot longer than 15mins to dry off though....

My business partner in Hurstpierpoint (about 10 miles north of Brighton) reports torrential rain, but nothing electrical as yet. Nothing where I am so far.

Yes, heard that rumble here too Coast. Made both me and the dog jump! Have now got heavy hail/rain and it's getting darker by the minute. Squally wind too with leaves flying around.

Glad I took the dog out earlier!
