Doesnt look like gfs will be backing down...

 

It's a slow progress if it isn't correct you will see slow corrections as the runs continue.

Looks like this run may produce a slightly better angle on the Northerly, slightly better ridging up the west side of Greenland...Have to wait and see though

Another twist in the current model saga, a much better GFS 06hrs run compared to the 00hrs, note here the upstream phasing with the low out of the Great Lakes and the one near Newfoundland, this helps to hold back the second low from moving east.

 

I think we can see just how much timing and phasing upstream will effect the downstream pattern.
