My minimum temps have downgraded from -2.5c overnight tuesday / weds to -0.9c, everything else looks 'cool' in comparison!

At this rate I may end up just missing an air frost Posted Image

Rain coming to an end here. 6.2c and murky at moment. Temperatures will tumble soon as weak front exits southwards and colder air follows on behind. Wrap up SEasterners😂!

gfs 12z ensembles

FI is on the 24th ignore after.  a 15 degree spread means after is too tricky to call

the main run from the 26th on goes loopy again

so cold in the reliable timeframe

precipitation showing 20th and 21st

fi ensembles are running average to below so nothing warm showing

pop up ecm ensembles later

Just walked back from the next village (they have gas AND electric there!) anyway it is cool and damp out.

Is that mad Jo S posting again? (sheesh!)

Might (still a BIG might) turn on the *other* storage heater tonight, but still all to play for.

Evening all! Posted Image

GFS definitely looks interesting in FI. I had a couple of pints at teatime and someone at my local asked my opinion - I think they'd read the snowmageddon tripe in the press. I said to them I felt that nothing unusual would happen in the short term, but that the turn of the month might be interesting in terms of possible snow. We can but see! Posted Image

  • Chilly with an increasing risk of frost

Once Monday's band of rain fades, the next few days will be drier. However, it will feel cool, even cold, in the breeze or under gloomy skies, with an increasing risk of frost. Read the full update here

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming. Week Ahead: Cool but largely dry until later in the week, when low pressure returns

We keep a chilly northerly flow going through much of the coming week, especially noticeable in the east. Cloud and rain spreading south Monday, but after that, most places largely dry until later in the week, when it looks to turn more showery. Read the full update here
