Morning - lovely out there this morning, not a cloud in the sky. Currently 3.0c - no frost for me but I'd imagine there is inland a little.

Morning all, clear and a little chilly here at around 3.5c, looking like after few unsettled days this week after that the models fairly much agree on some calm settled weather to at least to the end of the month and possibly beyond. For all the stick GFS has had this week, it's starting to look like high pressure over the UK might be the correct way forward. Having said that the GEFS ensembles are still all over the place this morning.

Let's hope for some sunny days and frosty nights and not too much cloud in the high if  this is the way forward.

Have a nice dayPosted Image

Morning everyone :)

Bit chilly out there today although not as chilly as I thought it would be. The moon was huge this morning so I grabbed a couple of pics.

I'm looking forward to the Snow Cup. Hopefully we'll have something to stick our rulers in very soon Posted Image  I've banned myself from the mod thread this year. The last 2 years have been so emotionally stressful just reading it so I've not ventured in this time. This thread is full of excellent posters with all the info you'd ever need anyway. Happy, non argumentative, sane(ish) people with straight up weather info in here and not a pram or strewn toy in sight. Just the way I like it Posted Image

Have a great day all

Morning Jo, morning all!

I think soon may still be a way away just yet as the solitary blue snow symbol for Thursday now resides slightly to our West on the overnight GFS:

Slightly different interpretation, but you see where that's going (nowhere?)

At least we have the cold coming into place and that's got to be one of the first key ingredients for any good dessert

(strawberries on your snow are optional....)

Morning folks,

Chilly this morning and I did have to scrape the car window (it was 5:30am)..... Although im not expecting anything on the snow front at the moment, a clear, crisp morning is certainly more welcome than the wet grey rubbish we have had lately....love this seasonal weather.....

Im going to do it.....Im popping into the Mad thread to see whats going on....if im not back in half an hour.....Call an ambulance!!!

Ok so that was a silly thing to do.....Im back already.

What ive gained is that the GFS is right the ECM is wrong and everyone is saying that its cut and dry! Oh man, it amazes me sometimes. They are talking about things happening in 2 weeks time like they have already happened.

Why is the GFS right for something that hasnt happened yet? I just dont get it Posted Image

Why is each run taken as gospel. The ECM is wrong, GFS is right....dear oh dear

I don't post in there either, most of the time it is just lots of people shouting very loudly at the same time and seldom listening to each other. There are some very big egos that are not worth arguing with. On the plus side there are some good informative posters, you just have to pick out the wheat from the chaff. Pretty quiet and resigned in there this morning.Posted Image

Very chilly 2 deg C but a marvellous morning here so I'm going out for a brisk walk to enjoy the bright sunshine and the last of the autumn colours, I'll be back for a warm up and hot chocolate later  Posted Image

Just post any chart, then mention something like it showing energy splitting or similar. People would then think you're an expert. Posted Image Edited by Steve C

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
