I'm guessing the triangle of doom is not included in that warning Posted Image

I looked at the mets weather warnings and all they have is an ice warning, not around here though, but I know its way to early to predict anything at this moment in time, so im waiting for much nearer the time. The good old British weather is always exciting good or bad

Well its dull and grey out there, but quite mild, I remember when I was younger ,when I used to go and watch fireworks, we used to wrapped up, as it was freezing, gloves ,hats. 3 pairs of trousers, this cold weather that is coming , it what it used to be like every winter even huge icicles.Just my thoughts. Oh and Im looking forward to the snow cup again this year,

Agree with you about fireworks, I remember loads of bonfire nights when I was growing up in the late 70s-early 80s that were really cold! Hard frosts, clear skies and sometimes really thick defined layers of fog that would ruin displays.

Also before central heating ,the ice would also be on the inside and we had a fan heater to keep us warm.lol, the good old days. oh and if the heating broke down in school, it we still had to stay there and freeze.Posted Image

Exacta weather - says it all.

I was reading an article the other day then saw Johnathan Powell, at which point I stopped reading.

Papers are going crazy with this nonsense, what started it all?

Cheap way to shift a lot of papers I guess. Easier than doing the decent thing and researching anything factual. Not newsworthy and not a thread of journalism involved.

Resisting the urge to say 'Luxury...', I remember the snow being on the inside of my bedroom window, piled up about two inches between the glass pane and the thick transparent plastic sheet my father had pinned over my bedroom window to stop the draughts as the frames were going rotten. Studying for my A levels, I wore an enormous thick knitted zip-up cardigan with the hood up that my nan had knitted for me. I really don't know how I went from that to the 'I really notice the cold' person I am these days!

I distincly remember having ice inside the single glazed crittal windows, and we lived in Poole, Dorset, not oop North. Dad constantly battled with mopping condensation / meltwater pouring down the windows and across the windowsills and onto the carpet. Im not a fan of plastic framed double glazing, but it really is a creature comfort. Ruddy Luxury  Posted Image

I am staying out of the model thread because:

a) I don't understand all the tech speak so have no idea what anyone's talking about

b)it's a bunch of people arguing about stuff that I don't understand

c) it's not a nice environment to post under.

My experience in that thread is how I imagine it would be to be in the middle of a riot in a foreign country - you have no idea what they're saying, what they're rioting about but all you do know is you don't want to be there!

In other BREAKING NEWS, the heating may be going on when the temperatures take a dive in the week.
