GFS puts in another FI teaser on the 12Z, would like this one to come off - Goodbye Atlantic and Hello Cold - High pressure building over the Atlantic and linking with Greenland High from 17th Nov to end of the run on the 21st Nov.

nooooo, not cold, cold costs me money (as does bleeding strong wind, but the tablets should sort that), calm and mild would be nice.... no?

No more strong winds I would agree with but calm and mild ughhh! - no thanks. - Don't panic though, chances of it happening still very unlikely this far out, but some hope for us snow lovers at least!

I like snow ( gives me a chance to get some pics to work with) but dread long drawn out periods of cold, snow and ice (plus driving is a mare when it is like that) as I have to run extra heating to keep it in the mid teens at best (like last winter) here.

Agree you can have too much of a good thing, didn't enjoy the long cold spring towards the end, but as I said before - put a jumper on! Posted Image

Precipitation - (-3) bone dry

Temperature - (0) Looks average, frosty starts leading to pleasant days, chillier where mist and fog sticks. Might be overcooking the temperatures here. Looks like the high would be pretty sunny though

Core heights just to the south east/East of the UK through new year and beyond on this one.

Well Xmas this year falls on such days most will be working it rather than having time of to enjoy time off, I am being challenged to work the period rather than take time off (but being single and was planning to stay with family that is a pain as I will have to come back early instead)

Hi Martin, hopefully there will be more information on this but it looks as if it was a very brief touch down...Tom Lynch has said that in his opinion after looking at the damage it was a tornado Posted Image

Nigel Bolton over on UKww is saying it definately sounds tornadic from the descriptions and photo's kindly provided, possibly a T3 on the British scale.

On a smaller scale here the winds have certainly picked up,  gusting up to 36mph in the last hour, with temperatures at 14.9c.

Hi there SE Gang,

There's a squall line of hefty showers which at present stems from the SW to the NE. The ppn is slow moving, so ETA approx 2-3 hrs time +/-. The wind has really picked up and will intensify as the squall pushes through.

Much colder conditions are still on the cards from mid month Posted Image
