No. I'll post more info very briefly with some charts and explanations as on phone atm. But either way, what you've shown is a chart for one day in January, not the month of January, so your statement was false.

In actual fact that Bartlett I posted lasts for more than "one day in January" so your statement is false

I got a question. Why are a few people on here and over threads saying about the possibility of snow in the SE, and it even settling, but the Met office, BBC weather etc. don't show any? Is there just some dreamers on here or are the Met office/BBC missing something???

I think any  lying snow will be on the highest gound towards the peak district

The peak district. By SE I meant South East. Sorry but isn't the peak district in Derbyshire?

Just looked on some webcams for the Pennines, top of the M62 at around 400m and it's chucking it down with rain rather than snow. Even though the warning says snow for areas 300-400m. Unless things turn colder later then it will probably turn to snow at 400m but as of now it's just plain rain.

This was the scene this morning in Amersham, Bucks! Big flakes, shame it wasn't drier and colder :-)

I said you were incorrect to claim that such a chart represented January according to the CFS, which it emphatically doesn't if you look at the chart Caticol posted shortly after your own. Nowhere did I claim that such conditions only lasted a day according to the CFS; I simply stated that the chart you posted only represented one day. Thus, my statement was not in anyway false.

Anyway, far, far closer to the here and now we've got charts like these to enjoy as a bit of gratuitous eye-candy for now  Posted Image Posted Image

It was false because I was showing a Bartlett, which was the reason you replied in the first place.

I'm not sure we're really understanding one another so perhaps it's best to lay it to rest? That chart will be forever gone shortly, it's the overall trend for the month of January (and far more importantly December) which we're concerned with, which are looking reasonably favourable and nowhere near Bartlett territory! Posted Image

Well as ever we'll see, the weather in this country is never nailed on even 48 hours out never mind 1-2 months away Posted Image

Indeed, my thoughts exactly Posted Image, so best not to show charts for one day at the end of Jan from one run, might mislead newcomers!

To view "as a bit of gratuitous eye-candy" - i.e. they're not going to happen - These charts need to come with a health warning! Posted Image

Indeed! And best to look at the reliable time frame, especially when there's some potentially interesting weather out in the beginning of FI from a coldie's perspective, not to mention the potential for ice days for Scotland, N.Ireland, Ireland and northern England this week under high pressure. Posted Image

And I know you're a new member, apologies - you'll learn lots here though, particularly with regards to the CFS being awful in the long term, save for trying to ascertain the general pattern for particular months, among many other things :)
