Nice fall streak hole this afternoon.
What was fascinating is that the air above the clouds continued flowing through for some time, creating a cloud 'waterfall'.
This suggests the air above was warmer than below, so as it fell through water vapour condensed into a sort of fog.

Its tempting, but i think it will be a few weeks yet till we get to his style of play, now I've said that we'll probably win 5-0

I'll be going. Got tickets for the block where the Boro bench is. Looks like it'll be a cracking atmosphere judging by the ticket sales.

Very foggy out there tonight which is no surprise given the damp ground and mild temperatures we've had around yesterday and today

Reckon our region may see a 'snow event' later next week Gavin?

Too far out yet TBH we'll know better after the 12z runs on Tuesday or Wednesday

Just imagine if we get another "that ECM" style let down after last years let down, all hell would break out in the MOD thread

Only if people haven't learnt not to ramp it up or get carried away by ECM, thinking that slightly better verification stats means "always more correct".

With 6 days to go this needs caution to be taken as always with any potential snow events

Gavin, it really is a waste of time looking at those ppn charts. Tonight's ones showing nothing no more mean there will be nothing than the ones you posted before mean there will be snow. It genuinely isn't worth even posting them unless they're 48 hrs out at most.

UK Outlook for Friday 6 Dec 2013 to Sunday 15 Dec 2013:

Very cold, with a mixture of sunny spells and snow showers on Friday and through much of the weekend, leading to snow accumulations in places, especially northern Scotland and some exposed areas close to western and eastern coasts. Gale force winds in the north and east for a time, with blizzards on hills. Many southern and central inland areas largely sunny but with widespread night frost. Late in the weekend, but more especially into next week, cloudier, milder conditions are likely to filter slowly from the northwest, although many southeastern areas may remain cold with some clear spells. Thereafter, a northwest/southeast divide becomes established, with the more unsettled but often milder weather tending to be in the northwest, and the best of the drier weather towards the south and east.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
