Wow this thread is quiet today, Very calm here at the minute, looks like the rain will get here soon. Hope it doesn't get too stormy again.

Yes I think everyone is having a rest after all the wind and rain from the past week.

i was just looking at the radar and thinking that if it was a month or so into winter and we had cold air over the continent then this low could have been a rain /snow situation and then the thread would have been busyPosted Image

Mostly been a beautiful day today, sunny, gentle winds, the hint of Autumn chill in the air and by mid afternoon a beautiful low sun light enhancing some of the russet colours.  Around 4pm a mackerel sky pushed up from the south west, the forerunner of the incoming rain.

Back to work tomorrow, back on the M25 as opposed to the quiet roads of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion with always the moors and/or the sea around the next turn.  If the sea is around the next turn on the M25 then we undoubtedly will be having some rather serious issues.

The NAE 12Z shows a pretty intense little low over east Anglia tomorrow morning, could prove quite a gusty and wet rush hour!

Is that the low that is supposed to skirt the south coast today, if so that's a little further north then it's expected to go, isn't it. These lows are giving me a headache.

BB, I'd have to give out an exact address to pinpoint it, and I don't know if my friend would like that.  I've just emailed her to ask if okay. Posted Image

It's okay.  They are 6 miles out of Kendal at Crosslands Farm. LA8 0HT.  There are no reports of damage elsewhere so they suspect it hit the ground right where they are.

I really appreciate that Milly. I will only pass that info on if I can get confirmation that someone is able to carry out a proper site investigation. Please pass my best wishes and thanks on to your friend and hope they can quickly recover from their ordeal. Posted Image

Evening all. :)

I've just been on the weekend storm (yesterday) thread.

I was in the north of England, yesterday and this morning (Rotherham / Sheffield area) and believe me, the wind was nowhere near as bad there, as it was here, for an hour or so last Monday. You'd never believe it, reading some of the posts on the thread. Posted ImageNorthern drips! Posted Image

It looks like heavy rain might be our main issue this week?

Good to see the forum back on line. Rain has arrived here, lots of fireworks going off aswell, several rather loud ones made me jump!! And lit up the garden with Foxie standing there in the rain.

Is anyone else still having problems with the site ?

A little, the front page still looks iffy but once I clicked on regonals it looks normal now.

Raining here now but still very calm, Feels very iffy TBH, just have a strange feeling about later.

Evening all,

I think there have been a few Gremlins in netweather towers tonight - seems to be under control now :-)

post-10773-0-27891900-1383511068_thumb.j

It was a bit damp for the mk fireworks but they were spectacular - glad to be back in the warm though snuggled up in my pjs !

Great fireworks tonight.  I set the last one off around 7pm, and as soon as it had finished it started to rain.  Great timing even if I do say so myself Posted Image

So since around 7 it has been raining, and getting slightly heavier now.  The last BBC forecast I saw (quite a few hours ago) has the main band to hit our region around 11pm ish? Is this still the case?

Current temp 9c, and at last that horribly nagging wind has subsided.
