Well just heard over the tannoy in the park where the civic fireworks display is going to be held and they say they are going to go ahead with it!! ><

I'm gonna film it from my garden in case it goes wrong lol!

The one at Wicksteed Park is still planning to go ahead too. That's a pretty impressive one usually. It's about five minutes walk for me. Need to decide whether to go or not.

Well, there was a storm, today. But, it wasn't as windy as was said on the forums or on the weather forecast which was 25 mph wind speed and 40 - 50 mph wind gusts inland and I am exposed to the WSW, here. High Wind Gust Today: 36 mph 17:32 High Wind Speed Today: 20 mph 15:20.

But Devon was never in the firing line for this one?

Yes, it was and is. Devon was and is under a Met Office yellow warning for wind.

10,000 homes in south and west Wales are now without power. Sky News just said.

You are probably sheltered by Exmoor and Dartmoor, N Devon was always going to be more prone.

Probably another 5 hours or so for us. Peak should be about 9-10pm.

Met office has my area down to see worst of the wind after midnight..it's allready gusting up to 40mph at times..and the moron over the roads setting off small trident missiles..first one on my roof he's going to be a few octaves higher in the vocal dept!

They really should call it off :-(

Our power went off for a couple of minutes here. Just long enough to light the candles! Still roaring outside.

It's like those people who persist in the BBQ even when it starts pouring down with rain. Nut jobs, the lot of em.

Porthcawl earlier, waves coming right over the seafront.A caravan blew over on the M4 near Port Talbot. Conditions are horrible on the M4 with drivers barely going above 40mph. The Welsh highways agency were slow to introduce speed restrictions despite the seriously dangerous conditions and it was only after this happened that the speed limit was dropped to 50/40/30MPH along the M4.
