A snapshot of tomorrow's newspaper headlines.

Outrageous is the word, this really has gotten out of hand. This circus could do big damage

to the credibility of Met Institutions.

They are because this is so overly hyped by the media and the papers and sky are as much part of this story as the actual weather.....its windy its not a blooming mega storm.....

It hasn't actually reached the UK shores yet mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why people are being sarcastic about the lack of wind when the storm hasn't actually got to the UK yet! Posted Image

But saying that it has been windy all day here & I have just got back from the seafront in Southsea (the bit that hasn't been closed off) & the rain was horizontal & waves were crashing over the sea wall. Latest reports from Solent Met station show pressure as 992.3mb & wind 46km/h gusting to 69km/h so it has become less windy here, but this was always expected & is the calm before THE storm Posted Image

Mind you, I am half hoping nothing really bad happens now, I have told my mate in Wandsworth to be aware of gusts and look up when he is near buildings and not take his missus or kid out but I have said it really should be ok to go to work.

for the umpteenth time today can we please cut out the sarcastic comments and media/forecast bashing....they aid nothing to the discussion and are indeed utterly off topic..........if you want to waste your time posting them then that's fine by us, we'll keep deleting them.

The disdain for anyone in the South is getting really too nasty here now, I'm a northerner by birth and I feel ashamed at these people.

A bit OTT that comment like no?  We are just having a laugh to try and lighten the mood - I have not read one comment that would suggest people should be ashamed of northerners etc etc

On another note the met do have more knowledge available to them so I would be more inclined to trust them.  Even in the event of an epic fail all these comments that they should be ashamed etc are no good - people need to not get the personal disappointment mixed up with a non event, and the fact the met office are there to warn the public not ensure it happens...

This weekend's weather has been fantastic PR for the Met Office. Frankly, well deserved - long range forecasting of hazardous weather.

And if I hear anyone tomorrow say something like, "wasn't as bad as they said", I'm going to teach them basic thermodynamics at gunpoint.
