Well I'm off to bed the wind has calmed right down again here in Brighton after 30 minutes of squall , I'm sat next to gassy 4 legged black and white milk makers and experienced more extreme wind speeds.

I wish I could tell where this thing is , It is almost impossible to tell on Infrared images . If it comes in over the Bristol Channel or further South then most of the West country will be in the center of the low and miss the High winds , If it comes in over Wales the whole of the West country will see a period of intense winds. The surface pressure plots are no where near matching the infrared , it is looking more like a weather front than a deepening low on most images.

try a line from 50N10W very approximately to the Lincs coast?

here in aston birmingham it's raining litely. I think this storm is been abit over hiped. The reason for the ott coverage by the media is because of london's in the firing line.

Dont worry all, as long as we have our week of food supplies, tools to cut through trees, have all gone into hiding under ground and have our evactuation plan sorted then we should be safe from the Apocalyptic MEGASTORM. Hope we all survive the next 24 hours of HELL

Does it need to show how many? most are posting idiotic things anyway.

Here in Bognor the wind is strangely dropping at the same rate as the pressure is dropping. Still 4 hours before we are due to get anything of interest anyway.

Off to sleep while it is quiet and hope it stays quiet until a sensible hour of the morning. 10:00am would do!

Am I alone in being committed to pulling an all-nighter to watch how this system unfolds?

A friend on the south coast said they can see trees rustling ever so slightly in a 15mph gust and the neighbours are all out in the street viewing the incredible scene and what might be nasty billy wind causing it!

Who'd have thought it could happen on exposed islands like the UK and Ireland?
