Not much to report by way of wind - in fact it's only slightly breezy out there at the moment - but we had a lot of rain overnight, from 1.5mm when I logged off at one this morning to 16.75mm just seven hours later.

It is nice to see some weather for once.

We seem to be in a 'dead zone' when it comes to weather over this part of the Midlands in recent years, the only thing we seem to get is heavy rain every now and then, every other type of weather hasn't happened.

This weather atm, reminds me of the 80's and early 90's type weather, especially seeing as it's near halloween (there always was a gale blowing at halloween :-) )

Nice crisp frost would be nice, adding to the crunch underfoot..

True, not a single frost so far this autumn, unusual to get this far into the season without experiencing one by now.

A few showers this morning, brighter now, calm, cooler, 10.2c, seemed we did have some heavy downpours last night judging on the radar around 5:30-6:00 but cannot confirm.

Felt quite chilly especially during the showers today.

Not used to these temps here when I have been used to 14-18c for weeks day and night in Falmouth!!!

Back in Cornwall tomorrow till mid December. :)

Do we know if there are any implications of an active Atlantic in Autumn regarding the Winter months?

Rather lovely for once out there, barely a cloud in sight and feels milder than 10.6c.

Seems we are in the perfect gap to miss all showers for most of the afternoon. Should get away with a decent day.

Very wet in the Buxton area too, around 19mm there since midnight, all of it from showers. Down here at the southern end of the Peak, only 18 miles away, there's been 4.4 mm over the same period.

Just think 4 weeks later and that would have been a dumping of snow for Buxton
