Still raining, got heavier last hour, is that front stuck? No dry day for Tuesday either, 34 days and counting...

Do you know if 34 consecutive rain days is a record for your area yet? If not, must be getting pretty close.

Was Sunday Not dry there?

Not until midnight, no- bear in mind I am talking calendar days (although 0900-0900 Sun/Mon didnt manage it either). Not sure what Shawbury will show, last Monday might have been dry there as we were plagued by localised showers in a very narrow band. About 3 or 4 days would only show 0 point something mm as all we got was drizzle.

It's certainly the longest run I can remember, we have had months with 25+ days but I can't remember more than 20 or so in a row before.

Not to bad here plenty of bubbly cloud around but also the sun is showing its face from time to time with a stiff breeze i must add.

We've all had enough of this rain by now but regarding the N/W of our region and especially 'Summer of 95'

34 days is bloody outrageous all i can say is you've certainly got the Charlie Brown thing going on up there Posted Image

I am still expecting Thursday to be an absolute washout for the north, north west, and NE of the region, that pressure chart looks vile

Anybody else feel like we're actually having seasons this year or just me ?

I was actually discussing this with someone earlier strangely enough. I do feel that we are. Which has to be a good thing.

Yep, first frost here last night.

Another Autumn box ticked from the things I'd expect from this season.

In fact, think i've got the full Autumn set ticked now.

Warm early Autumn days...tick

Crisp bright days...tick

Stormy weather....tick

Autumnal thunderstorm...tick (although saw that in the Lake District!)

Stupid amounts of rain on one day/night...tick

Thick fog....tick

and now...

Frosty night...tick

That'll do...

...you may start winter now.

Just need a tick for snow now (if it's the kind of weather you're after). Posted Image (Edit: and also that other tick triple_x1 mentioned above if you haven't had an Autumnal thunderstorm yet).

Next week could produce something wintry for the Midlands, particularly for higher areas of the region, although whether it will be cold enough and whether their will be much precipitation around is still to be decided. I suppose the exact type of flow we get will be crucial as well (but it looks like we could get a flow between the North-West - could be good for a Cheshire gap shower setup - and a flow to the North-East).

A day of two halves today, lovely crisp sunny morning (surprisingly almost no frost here for some reason despite a 0.3c low) followed by a miserable grey afternoon.

With the 12z ECM showing -6 850hpa and the 12z GFS even lower at -9 there's some very cold air in the forecast for next week, Especially for this time of the year Posted Image

When you look at these charts, You have to pinch yourself Posted Image

Regarding precipitation well we won't really know much about that till we are nearer the time, Looking forward to keeping an eye on the FAX CHARTS

But with the cold air in place anything can happen Posted Image  Anyway some very interesting times ahead.

Moderate rain shower alert.

lol that made me chuckle..............not exactly the most urgent alert we've ever been issued with! Posted Image

Some beefy looking showers heading into the north of the region right now.

I enjoy these sunny intervals and hefty showers days with their hail and cumulonimbi. Classic Cheshire Gap for the West Midlands.
