Can guarantee a deep depression moving from Charlton to Dartford around 5pm, if Charlton lose this afternoon.Any idea what I should wear, rain coat or tea shirt for sitting in the stand at the valley?

How about a red and blue scarf

Ah well, I was wrong about moving the amber but right about not issuing a red. Guess they are bearing 87 in mind and that last minute change in track which could still happen over night.

Red Alert can not be issued at present. This will be reviewed from midnight

driving to Southend for my dads 70th. driving back around 7ish....should be ok?

I'm going there later to sit on the seafront with my camera, your best off taking the A13, the A127 is likely to be a dangerous place with so many trees lining it, but saying that, 7pm may be ok!

As posted in the storm thread.. the low is already 6mb lower than forecast for this time..

Take it the lower actual pressure compared to the progged one would give it a little more tilt northwards?

As I see it nothing has really changed then the Met O warnings and weather impact matrix remain the same as they were yesterday and we just need to be prepared and wait and see what happens.....

this is what i am looking at and again its annoying as its between runs

Posted Image

very strong winds for all probably excluding yarmouth area

although that at present would be where very heavy rain would be

now the next frame

Posted Image

monday lunchtime

has the low cleared

still windy but nothing like earlier

now look at the southern flank of the low on the above fax chart

you can see how very tight the isobars are

now from 06-12 run the low heads rapidly north east

the bit between we cannot see how tight these isobars will be when it hits

the far north east of our region

i hope we will see this on the late charts but there is a chance

this in the end could be a nowcast situation

Windy on Poppit Sands this morning, quite a big sea running, high tide, spray being blown backwards off the wavetops.  Sunshine and showers, beautiful light. Sand being whipped along in dry, twisting rivulets.  And this is just a normal blowy Welsh Autumn day!

Sorry I couldn't help myself. The main models look to be very wrong on the development of the low already with it much deeper than forecast. I think the NAE might be the closest at the moment, plus weatheronline have it in 3 hour steps Posted Image

Surely the Dartford crossing would be closed with a severe gale cross wind

WOAH!!! ... This storm could end up being one to remember for us guys in the south. I've finished work so I'm here to stay glued to the models... absolutely fascinated at what could happen here :)

the storm thread has descended into toy and pram throwing when perhaps they should be worrying more about toy & pram debris hitting off their thick heads...
