hi alexis

not moving very fast at present

think the jet stream will do that job shortly

hope it does as we do not want that moving slowly across us

Thanks for that explanation. Can understand some of the hype on Sky News now.

Hi jules, pretty nasty here but nowhere near as tortuous as having to watch Sky News for the last couple of hours!Posted Image

I thought I would join this chat to see what people are experiencing with the storm!Posted Image I don't think these 'radars' are 100% correct probably not even '99%' correct because, I'm in Greater Manchester as we speak and there is no rain and no wind. I know the storm is more for South England but the radar is showing rain for my location, any chance this storm will move further north towards North West England during the night? Just another quick question I would appreciate a reply. Has anybody heard about another potential storm heading over North West England next weekend?

Thanks.

hi weatherwatch

welcome

i do not think the low will go far enough north for you

however

http://www.sat24.com/de/eu

you look to have some pretty gusty showers enroute for a little later

hope that helps

the storm next week is a tad to far out for specifics but does look a possibility going

by the runs i have seen today

Well, im slightly intoxicated as my mum made me drink what was left of her alcohol stash as shes going on a diet tomorrow (Like she needs it she goes to the gym everyday) So if my grammar is not correct you know why!I am keeping my back door open probably a bad idea as it faces directly southwest. Bit of a flooding issue right now in my kitchen but I have a large blanket inplace to soak up the water!IF, it stalls then we could be looking at some major flooding issues let alone wind issues.

It's background chatter to mask the sound of the wind as it's driving the dogs bonkers. Mind you I think having it on is driving me bonkers Posted Image

Well we still have power. I am on my pc for this post as my wifi is rubbish. Wind kicking off a bit now. Gonna go and watch it.

Hoping John is right and the low doesn't stall - but we never know til it happens.

Stay safe everyone.

For the first time in hours.....suddenly it's all gone quiet ??

Yes we just had this. I'm not far from you. Picked up again now.

Strongest gust so far at 3.03am (wont give the speed as my wind sensor seems useless in its current location) but made the house rattle a little bit.

Oh and pressure still falling with 16.8mm of rain since midnight.

Woke up just before my alarm went off, but just rain here in Rayleigh, pressure still dropping. Think I will go back to bed for an hour or two - should be actually windy by then!

Temp has risen 3'C in 3.5 hours!
