Will take a look thank you, If you take a look at my profile pic its one I snapped at Walcott, got some really good snaps down there, I went home and came back for the night time high tide and got myself a ring side seat before they blocked the road off lol.

By the tim eI thought of going to Walcott the road would have been closed, so I didn't bother, good profile pic that.

As for tonight, I doubt if we'll see much before 05:00 tomorrow, we could start taking a pounding as it runs into the North Sea with the winds turning North Westerly (and still really strong at that point)

I think we'd have had a red weather warning by now, somewhere in the region, if we had to majorly worry. Posted Image

Not blaming Met Office though. :) Safe than sorry is always a good option. Posted Image

Time to trawl through threads...

For those of you worried about where your storm is see above - this system was never due to arrive in our region until the morning !

Winds will start to strengthen as it makes landfall in the SW - I suggest you either get you heads down for a few hours or watch the radar, :-)

Totally off topic but breaking news........RIP Lou Reed Posted Image

On the very night we may be about to take a  ' Walk on The Wild Side '.

An update on the roads...

The Highways Agency said the Queen Elizabeth II bridge on the M25, which forms part of the Dartford River Crossing between Essex and Kent, was expected to close in the very early hours of Monday morning due to the high winds.

However, the tunnel part of the crossing is expected to remain open and will operate in contraflow (one tunnel running in each direction) to allow traffic to still get across the Thames.

The agency said other areas were also being affected by strong winds.

The Sheppey crossing in Kent, which carries the A249 to the Isle of Sheppey, was closed earlier on Sunday and there have been speed restrictions in place on the Dartford crossing.

hi jp

I have been looking around but is there a website where we can see what the pressure of the Low is, compared with what was forecast? Ie will it be worse than forecast ?

The worst of the winds, the damaging gusts, looks to be between 00-05Z, midnight and 5am Monday

along the south coast, for Cornwall, and coasts of Devon, Dorset, Hants, IOW, W.+E. Sussex and Kent

Kent continues to see stormy conditions around dawn and the strongest gusts.

Thanks, will try get some others uploaded to my gallery, shot some great burst photography on the nights high tide, got the waves crashing in and breaking over the car, was beautiful to watch. Think I will indeed take a drive to the coast, shame the wind intensity looks set to coincide with low tide!! still can't have it all I guess lol

Just looked at the radar and yes, it is chucking it down where you are, but you have a gap coming up, enough time to get your supplies in.  No booze??

Fear not NNW, I am not letting the side down, some Welsh cider earlier and then the odd glass or 2 of red to accompany the Boeuf.  That's why I had my eye on the espresso later!

I am here in the beedroom with the window ever so slightly open, west facing room and I can hear the gusting of the wind outside now, just started to pick up here/.

Nothing to write home about yet, but it is starting to pick up for sure.

To the point where even the tiny gap in the window is making my bedroom door bang to and open every now and then. ...you get what I mean !

If you see a bloke walking around at about 2am with a camera trying to get some pictures that's me.  Anytime after that, phone the police... Posted Image
