Heavy rain this afternoon followed by strong Gusty SW winds. Now dry but rain omnious, wind has fallen light.. Calm before the storm springs to mind.

how come the tv peeps talking about the storm are saying keep away from the sea its dangerous, while standing on the beach nearly in the sea?

Been down to the harbor today, there's white horses in the harbor as well as outside the walls. The harbor waves are even breaking over the prince of wales pier. That pier is in the harbor.  That was about 2 hours ago, the main stuff isn't here yet.

Welcome everyone (New and Returning) :)

If you don't have it already, please can you pop your location in your Profile please? Tis handy to see where everyone is!

Pretty windy here already, not raining yet, but the Radar showing it won't be long. Lots of wine, Choc pudding and the camera already. Please make sure your Pets are inside and you don't take any unnecessary risks as we go through it :)

Looking forward to reading the updates as we go on, stay safe!

The wind has died down a bit, the calm before the storm, so to speak.

The barometer currently reads 997.8mb here: http://www.worthingweather.org/ (click on Live Display)

Just hope everyone stays safe over the next 12-18 hours.

Headline news on the BBC but when it came to the regional and National forecast very underwhelming in fact almost laughable - the phrases 'Tie down garden furniture' and 'blocked guttering' I believe were mentioned or words to that effect by Jay Wynne and our regional forecaster on Look East. I don't think I'll be staying up.
