This looks like an exact repeat of 87! Unlike 87, I'll be alive to witness this one Posted Image

I did witness that one, was hoping never to see it again. Still time to hope at the min. But things seem to be getting worse not better.

But you won't be able to tell anyone about it unless you get your phones charged up as there'll be no power for anything up to a month in rural areas. NWTV will transfer to the small screen.

Maybe the authorities will be a bit more organised this time, but somehow I doubt it.

If you got hit by something at that speed you would know it, badly.

I've been 'hit' by 120 mph gusts and would say they were worth an amber warning

How about if those winds were carrying a branch? Red warnings perhaps?

Anybody remember a storm on 27th October 2002?

Rumours that the potential storm on Monday could have shades of that one.

120mph gusts are synonymous with a cat 3 hurricane, are you sure you aren't mixing up your km and m?

Shift slightly further south than the original Humberside prediction for the centre of the low?

Now going across N Norfolk

Well the centre of the low on that chart you've quoted is just off the coast at the Humber, but in general yes, I expect it will be south of the Humber.

I know, they said that a cat 3 hurricane was worth an amber warning though! They must have been joking I suppose, it's difficult to tell sometimes.

70mph doesn't sound much but some of the tree's are still in leaf even this far north, aswell as the ever increasing threat of dead-tree's due to numerous diseases and it's easy to see how regional areas can be affected. Being nearly 3000ft at the summit of Carnedd Dayfdd has given me a new found respect for just how even a moderate (continuous) gale can be in terms of strength.

Saying that however the UK is more/less used to these kinds of atlantic low's so as always caution plays its part with most.
