That has to be a joke. Does anyone know who took the picture? Would be interested to know if TORRO have seen it and what they think.

Just been up to my vantage point on the tallest point in my town, Had a great lightning display for over an hour towards milton keynes way! Anyone here in MK get anything? was well impressed to see the sky so active at this time of year Posted Image

Aye had a nice little storm or two in MK last night, was out so didn't post any update. Very gusty squall hit around 9pm with torrential rain and bright white CC lightning accompanied by loud booming thunder. Lasted about 20 mins and moved away to the east.

Here you go guys. You'll find your answer here.

Taken from my facebook.

You might see this picture going around this morning, supposedly showing funnel clouds and Portsmouth, or Plymouth, depending on where you read it. Actually, it is neither - it is, in itself, a doctored image (see the comments for the original) - it's a shame that some people feel the need to try issue such fakes, but they're often fairly easy to spot/disprove:

Thanks for that Jane Louise. As they say it is easy to spot a fake when you spend hours looking at storm photos and videos as i do. Maybe i need to get out more lol.

In the meantime last nights match at Fratton Park between Portsmouth and Wycombe Wanderers was abandoned. I can't think why Posted Image

Yes i bet they still watered the pitch before kick-off, totally oblivious to what was heading over the area...

The notable feature of last nights storm in this area was the 30-40 minute vivid lightning display with no rain or thunder, and clear starry skies overhead intially, then high level cloud being lit up for much of that time. Once the the storm actually arrived on my doorstep it came with strong gusty winds and torrential rain for about 10 minutes, then it was all over.

I curse the poor view I have from my ground floor flat making filming it all but impossible, but musn't grumble because I have seen more lightning in the last 3 days than I had in the previous 10 months. Posted Image

I watched that area from my loft, it was flashes on the horizon, once i had my cameras set-up, the whole lot lost intensity....

In the next decade..is a safe enough bet I'm 100% sure of it!

Coastlines are the places to be it seems for more chances of a light show or two? if the past few days are anything to go by. And boy some looked very juicy indeed Posted Image

Diddly squat here since I dunno April? Can't remember lol.

Or never lol. Yes, by the coast has always been good for storms in Autumn and then the Summer is mainly in the North East. Oh well, can't win them all Lol. Roll on next year!Posted Image

Off to Tenerife tomorrow. Hopefully a thunderstorm there. If not, maybe I'll see something from the plane on the way there and back!
