A new thread here for the rest of Autumn. Autumn has been  very good for storms this year! although sadly not everybody has had one yet. Posted Image One rumble of thunder and one flash of lightning so far this year for me which I'm most grateful for . I am certainly not giving up any hope just yet as we all know storms can happen anytime of the year.  Posted Image Anyway good luck again all  and don't forget to post up any pics and videos you have.Posted Image

Why lock a thread mid-event??

Probably to make more room, plus old thread had alot of pages.

Lightning again here and rumbles of thunder. Some big echoes on the radar just SE of here now.

Wow! The sky overhead is clear with stars out here. But every 30 seconds it's lit up with flashes coming from the West - I'm absolutely miles away.

Well that was the best storm for years here, had constant thunder and lightning for the best part of half an hour, the whole sky lighting up and forks darting across the clouds, and the thunder was like one constant rumble! Even now the lightning is still flickering away. Got a few pics, will try and upload them later.

Anyone in the path of that is in for a real treat!

Hi Tom ....

Thankfully.....I hope..... it looks like it will miss us as we are too far east. Our next event is after 4.00am tomorrow with the stuff coming from France....but it's just looking wet atm!

...from a newbie near neighbour (ie 10miles north of you) who doesn't "do" torrential rain (owing to local flooding issues) or severe winds (owing to proximity of large ancient trees)......but likes a good light show!If you want to see it ...your best bet is to pootle up to the Ashdown Forest A22 viewing points and look North-west/Westxxxx

Best storm for years saw some lightning hit the ground a few houses away with an almighty crack and sparks and got a teeny bit scared for a second!

Another batch of shower cells approaching the SW peninsula.

These could affect areas further west than recent storms have tracked.
