Been fairly dry here today, surprisingly.

All my books are in the garden, hope the plastic rubbish bags hold off the rain.

no more room in the house, they were all at my exs house but he died so i had to rescue them.Think this could end badly and wetly.

Been fantastic here today. Lots of warm sunshine, and very light winds. Pretty clear at the moment. Not looking forwards to tomorrow's weather. I have to travel to London on my motorbike, looks like a tricky and very wet journey.

To be able to easily repair hard drives would make a fortune!

I think around midnight in your neck of the woods :-)

Thought I would have a look at the Met Office web site and it says this

Cloudy but dry for many this evening, with a few outbreaks of rain across the far north. However, outbreaks of rain will spread to the whole region during the night.

Persistent, locally heavy rain through the morning. During the afternoon, the far north of the region may see some drier interludes but heavy rain will continue to affect the south.

i wonder if this is still going to plan and whether this batch of rain is heavier than expected. I can see another lot leaving the Dutch coast which is probably associated with the low and the rain for the morning no doubt a few more hours will tell.

Well, it's cleared from here now, that's probably the lot you are getting.

Still plenty to the East of us though, will be interesting to see how/if that develops, the MO is showing strong winds for us again tomorrow

I have feeling that when these lows come from the east the models have trouble working out what is going to happen, suppose they are used to everything coming from the west.

Couldn't agree more, interesting the way that FI swings from 6-8 days when we have a zonal flow down to 2-4 days when we have any major Easterly component.

The Dutch always laugh about getting bad weather a day after the Brits, for a change it's the other way round

Hello all

Been a lovely day here really.  It was still raining at 5:30 am when I was up and about but by 7am it had stopped and after that the sun got going and by and large it has been a perfect Autumn day.  Watching the under 11s football at 9:30 with the sun on our backs it felt positively warm.  Picked another kilo of sloes late morning as the sun continued to bear down, the clouds ambled about and the ground shrugged off the 18 hours of rain.  Today was for me a perfect Autumn day, a recovery from a grim yesterday, a chance today to embrace a perfect day, and the thought of a wild and bleak day to follow.

It's the constant variety of this season that is so captivating

Glad you had a lovely day.

Was dry but cloudy here most of the day, but when the sun broke through, as you said, it felt warm.

Tomorrow may not be so good.....

Been down in Southampton today and was a lovely day with increasing sunshine followed by a gorgeous sunset. By the time got to Oxford was peeing it down and had seen 8mm rain since 4pm. Just shows the contrast in weather in relative short distance!
