Beautiful morning. After getting the train the last week or so, and despite the cold, it's looking like a cycle to work today. Stunning autumn morning!

Lovely morning here too. +1c after an overnight air frost - first of the season here.

That's just what it looks like here SC! Very pretty, temp down to just below freezing last night, snowing heavily at 8.30pm and we awoke to a nice wee dusting! All change later on when the rain and wind get going, so back to normal tonight! Nice while it lasted! Posted Image

No snow here in a very frosty and chilly perth.....first hat and scarf day of the season I think

First?? I have been hat (more ear muffing) and scarfing (and gloving!) for some time. I'm just hoping it's not slippy!

I don't know what the stats are for this area as atmospherics appear to be playing hell with my signal at the moment. Safe to say it's a cold one though and everything white with frost.   Didn't really expect anything overnight here snow wise.

Living in an old farmhouse a strong wind usually rattles everything but just been woken up by what I always describe as a muffled wind so I knew before I looked out that heavy blowing snow was falling , I was correct. Currently -1c

Another triumph for the Cat Model forecast...

A fairly red sky this morning, turning to clear blue sky with pale gold sun... xc says -3 at Embra airport, and it's certainly nippy. No snow, but it was an outside chance anyway - but definitely a day for a few extra warm sheep worn decoratively about my person! :)

Nice pics NC, especially with that snow shower just on the horizon

It was very cold this morning, hardest frost on my car and the ground was solid. Garden thermometre says -3, lovely morning!

Thicker cover than I expected this morning, around an inch. Crisp with beautiful clear skies now. Strangely none of the hills and mountains inland from here that I can see have any snow on them so it looks like us in and around Aberdeen got very lucky this morning.

SEVERE weather warnings have been issued for most of Scotland as forecasters predict the first cold blasts of winter with snow and ice expected to last in places until Thursday.

Overnight temperatures are expected to dip below freezing, especially in the north and west. Snow on the roads ahead of rush hour this morning creating potentially hazardous conditions for motorists. The Scottish Government was set to deploy 126 gritting lorries across the country's A-roads to prevent the surfaces freezing overnight into this morning. Eight footpaths were also due to be treated.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Roads are likely to turn icy in places. Sleet and snow showers may be heavy at times, particularly over the Western Highlands. Any snow cover will be patchy over low lying areas, with sleet or rain more likely near windward coasts. "Snow will settle more readily on hills, and there may be as much as 10cm over the higher ground of the Western Highlands." The Met Office has put in place a series of Yellow 'Be Aware' warnings covering the north and west of Scotland until midnight tomorrow.

Overnight temperatures could fall as low as -5°C in parts of northern Scotland with up to 10cm of snow falling on higher ground. The Central Belt likely to experience daytime temperatures no higher than around 3-4°C midweek, with some snow flurries, although it will only lie on higher ground. Winds will increase tomorrow with gusts of up to 70mph in places.

Sunny here at +2C from a min of around-2C. [-3.5C on car]. Could see clouds passing down the North Sea first thing as usual with this windflow.

A dusting this morning up at my mums in Highland Perthshire is their first of the season I think.

It's reached the dizzy heights of 2c here today but a lovely sunny morning so far with clear blue skies. It was -5c here at 7am and a good solid frost on the car.

Nice to see everyone again now that winter has arrived Posted Image
