It's pretty ugly out there, nasty cold rain. Some good potential with this system as highlighted in the Storm Thread, might see some nowcasting warnings change throughout the day.

V6 Radar will be worth a watch today as cells pop up here and there, already clustering away in the Atlantic on this satrep image.

Few images from the 06z run on Eport - water vapour showing the dry air, windspeed and airmass. Estofex storm warnings are on the overlay.

Dreich sums it up. Wet, with a 25mph SSEly wind making the current temp of 8.5c feel chilly.

Vote for your favourite animal? SNH and Visitscotland get together and make up something you'd do for a P2 class learning about bar charts. Jeez how low can this country's corporate onanists go?

Real November day here dull dark and wet later in the afternoon.  Currently 4c with no wind. You can almost smell the snow coming. Did a bit of tidying in the garden in the morning but too wet in the afternoon to be outside

A cold, grey, frosty start to the day here after a very starry sky the previous evening. Got a great view of Jupiter and its 4 moons through the sighting scope I bought earlier this year. At 11am this morning the car still said it was only 3C despite the impending rain. The rain arrived around mid day and by mid afternoon we were getting drenched watching the kids playing football. Felt cold, but not cold enough for sleet or snow.

Fitted my new Nokians a while back, been taking it a bit easy since as I didn't want to wear them out on our mild tarmac... Now we have some lower temps (due for 3C on Monday morning) I can get going again Posted Image - no camper vans left now Posted Image

First snow of the season reported at Loch Glascarnoch. A driech November day but it was great to have a proper cold-feeling autumn day. Maximum of 7C at the airport was the coldest since the middle of April. It's been a nice fresh, partly clear November evening with the sound of fireworks, glimpses of the starry night sky as patchy, thin, wisps of thin/faint cloud drifts east across the sky.

Christ on a stick: woken by hungry cats an hour ago, worked in tandem with Ms HC's roadroller to get me out of bed!  Just drizzly here but the radar suggests that NL may need a barge to rescue the cows...

Yes very wet overnight .Think this is the last lot of rain that the ground will soak up quickly as the soil mosture deficit is nearly gone. Have to try and lift a few neeps this week before ground gets too wet. Dry above but strong NNW wind and currently 5.5c

Been out putting fence posts out for neeps this morning  and noticed a dusting of snow on the Cawdor hills down to below 1500 feet, its getting closer.

*blinks*  Is it time to wake up yet? Hello, fellow Kilters! Has it started snowing?

That's the estivation over for another year. Bring on the snaw!

AWT: 4.0ºC for me please. Doesn't feel 'mild' to me out there. Potential for cold zonal stuff first half of the month, then hints of a cooldown showing.
