Nothing will happen hear though. Pity fire crews putting a carpet warehouse fire out close to me would like some heavy rain.

Can see quite a lot of lightning flashes to my southeast at the moment, and at times I can actually see the lightning stroke which is orange in colour.

I don't think I am in for a direct storm though.

I have to say it hasn't been that bad for lightning this year and its been far better then the last 6 years!

Thats one heck of a squall line through Oxon into Berkshire and into Hampshire. Gonna reach here soon.Brief lull after heavy rain 1/2 an hour ago with persistant thunder and lightning. Exciting :)

Although we didn't quite cop a direct hit, watching the storm (still, over 50 miles away) is absolutely spectacular.  Lightning every couple of seconds and now getting a good show of anvil lightning!  One of the best storms I've experienced in a very, very long time!  Reckon the A3 corridor is about to cop it.

Liking the slow eastward movement - long may it continue.

Looking distinctly dark in all directions here!

Yes, the sun set 2 hours ago....

Thunder just south of Watford Gap services, two vague flashes so far...

Best storm of the year so far, frequent lightning striking the ground close by, moving off to the East now but lightning  and rumbles still going.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
