Morning all

Not stepped out yet, had a lie in and a lazy(ish) start to the day (I have got the washing on if that counts).

Looking out there is plenty of cloud but it is not raining with a slight breeze moving the leaves.  15oC at the mo.

Hope you all have a jolly nice day :)

Not sure if this has already been posted

I'm not sure about that article but there has certainly been a huge amount of snow falling in the Black Hills of South Dakota for the first week of October...

post-10773-0-69860200-1380963875_thumb.j

There have also been some large tornadoes in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa...

post-10773-0-50171000-1380964279_thumb.j

....and some bad news about famed tornado chaser Reed Timmer who has apparently suffered a seizure while chasing storms on Friday - best wishes for a speedy recovery for him Posted Image

The ex-Discovery Channel star has suffered an apparent seizure, according to KFOR Oklahoma City and is recovering in the hospital.

Timmer, known as the star in the Discovery Channel’s ‘Storm Chasers’ was chasing near Sioux City, Iowa when the event happened. According to Mike Scantlin, Timmer can talk, but feels nauseated.

Meanwhile this side of the pond it's well....just grey really...but there is a glimmer of brightness on the horizon Posted Image

Spoke too soon about it being dry, just put a bag of rubbish out and it is damp and drizzly now.

Just looking at the pictures makes me shiver *brrrrrr*

and a quick check of the radar shows the last of the showers moving away now, the drizzle has stopped so I may get to hang the washing outside after all.  Then a stroll to the next village beckons a bit later methinks if the warm dry weather holds out.

Thanks Anvils for the link I really appreciate it!

You're welcome. Hope it's what you're looking for. (I have a bookmark for a Dutch site which shows an animation of the lightning over the whole of Europe for the last month. Was going to post that too.....except it now gives you "404 Not Found" Posted Image.)

Bit of a 'no weather' day here too so far. Some brightness first thing, but it was rapidly replaced by the greyness others are reporting. 16°. Yawn...

Just back in from hanging the washing out and suprised at how warm and humid it feels outside now, passed 16oC too and the cloud is breaking up too.

Bit disappointed with today - been pretty much cloudy all day bar the odd glimpse of sun.

Mostly grey in Brighton today but with the occasional burst of sun.  Very humid and mild with not much wind around.

Hoping for more sunshine tomorrow.

The sun has appeared.... at 17:20. Nice to see though. Perhaps tomorrow will be sunnier.

Mostly grey today, with sun breaking through from time to time, and some threatening dark cloudy skies putting in an appearance but only managing to yield very slight drizzle. Warm and muggy with the windows and doors open this afternoon and the dog finding his walk to the park rather too hot (and I don't just mean the female bulldog he met!). Weather app tells me it's 64 degrees with 68% humidity.

I was thinking to get back out in the garden with my son for summer garden games given the pleasant temperatures even without the sunshine. The grass on our lawn is unbelievably green and thriving since the Sahara-esque look it took on at times over the summer; hubby not pleased to continue with the mowing, as we wait for that final mow which to be fair usually happens at some point in October.

Back from my stroll to the next village, and now the dark is setting in, just got the washing in before the damp arrives.  Still quite mild out there, no complaints from me after the prolonged cold of last winter with just never seemed to end (and killed a few of my shrubs too).

Reefseeker, I know how he feels about mowing the lawn as I have only a small amount of petrol left and really don't want to fill up another can until the spring although maybe it would be cheaper to buy it nowPosted Image

Petrol doesn't have a good shelf life and can go stale if stored for several months!

Problem solved then, no more mowing until next year!

Much cooler tonight walking the dog; got me wondering about the 'if/maybe' change to cooler weather that some models are proposing for the end of next week.

Have a good evening all:)

evening all,

Disappointing grey, and at times drizzly day today. Still had a lovely brunch with my daughter, and suitably refueled hit the shops in style this afternoon. Feeling warm and humid out there still

Stil quiet and mild in Brighton.  16 year old doing an utterly convincing impression of a moody 16 year old.  I'm probably, as a direct consequence, doing an even better impression of a seriously fed up 48 year old.....

Ha ha, Martyn, welcome to my world! Posted Image

That's like totally SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO unfair Jan!  We should form a support group - TB (NAP) SWOT GESS which stands for Teenage Behaviour (Not Always Perfect) Suppose We Ought To Give 'Em Some Slack

Although, I am only able to embrace the 'giving them some slack' concept now that things have calmed down.  If you'd asked me an hour ago then I might not have been so keen on the idea!

It didn't feel as warm as the thermometer suggested, felt quite fresh.
