Morning folks,

As I mentioned last night, we were just a little too far west - yet again! - for the main electrical activity. Nothing beats being right under the cell of course......but being a few miles from the edge does have its benefits. It means we got to see the sky to the south, and then east, being lit up by some incredible lightning. Two or three overhead flashes and booms here in the end, but on nothing like the scale being witnessed 15/20 miles away. East Kent trumps the western half once again!

Glad to see a few more commented on how mild it was last night. It was amazing for October. 16.5° when I hit the sack shortly after midnight. And the mild air is still with us; 17.2° at present. Sun poking through the fast-moving clouds too. 20° in the SE today?

Morning Lee,

Might just scrape it if the sun comes out, but a good chance of 18 or 19°C:

Just made it to 18.3° here, in a lengthy sunny spell. Clouding over again now....but it's all moving so quickly up there.

Indeed. And beers in the Big Smoke for me tonight.  Posted Image

Will report back on any thunderstorms, tornadoes etc in the capital this evening.

(So, yep, that means it's 99.9999% likely I'll have nothing to report back on!)

It's at a golf course, so there's bound to be a bar Posted Image Tomorrow is a birthday party in the pub up the road, so light and shade in everything I guess!

Loving the look of the MetO forecast for Sunday, might be the best day of the next three:

Mornin each. Well....what a great night last night. I did take a video of some very bright, high -up -in -the- clouds lightning, but I can't post it because it won't upload on YouTube. :( But I'll try again later. Hey! You get to hear my ghastly broad Yorkshire accent. Bet you can't wait.....:D

Nice and mild here in Ippy with a lovely gentle refreshing breeze. :)

Have a great Poets Day everyone and take care.

Does anyone know where I can find that data from the met that has lightning activity by month?

cheeky rumble of thunder and 5 min downpour here in Ascot!

All is not lost then ?!

After the dead calm of the last few days the wind is picking up quite nicley here and some promising looking clouds are flying overhead at a fair rate of knots, interspersed with brief spells of sunshine. Currently 19c. Areas to the north and east of London might be in for a pleasant suprise judging by the dark clouds that have just flown by here. Never say never.Posted Image

Never known a club house on a golf course without one!

Select 'lightning strikes' from the 'climate variable' drop-down. That what you mean?

I know - we have been under a stench of horse manure for days now in Bexley.  Which is fine on a farm yard, but.... Posted Image

Ta. Good old Gravesend! (And here, just along the A2, it's currently 19.3°C. So we're not too far behind!)
