Not much of a punt I know but any thundery action I would suggest restricted to Sussex/Kent, with only lighter ppn towards the Surrey/London area.

KCZ.

Wrong actually... This is how I see things...

How am I hope casting? Im using sources that are available to try and pin point where this storm is going... I can't predict the future nor can I make a 100% judgment to where that storm is going... Plus there are storms firing all over the place.. I will be surprised if we see nothing

look at the trough to our south-south east

windflow is south west to southerly which should push the showers more north

looks ok for most but only guarantee is watch the radar

uk wind map shows a slightly more north east direction

the wind is more favourable though

either way we should soon find out

This part of Surrey wont see anything....i will bet my house on it......anything that makes it across the channel  will shift east up the dover straits..........like it always does.

Should be entering the London area approximately 9:15pm. Not sure about large T storms. But heavy rain will be on cards.

Surrey, do you think the lighting strikes are growing in strength as they head towards the UK? I hope they are...

Hello SE'ies :)

A nice start then rapidly downhill from there! It rained very hard for a bit around lunchtime then just the odd burst for the rest of the afternoon, now raining quite hard again.

I'm liking the look of those storms over the Channel, however, I think Coast has the best chance of seeing something from this.

Aside from all the storm talk, must just point out it's currently 17° here. Not bad going for past 8 on an October evening, I'd have thought.

Anyway, back to radar/strikes watching...

Are we expecting thunder storms this evening in Brighton area?

I might have to go up the downs later for a better view if we get much lightning.
