Looking out towards Hastings and St Leonards, this is actually how dull and misty it is:

For those with a bit of interest in WWII history, this is the spot the B24D Liberator "Ruth-Less" crashed in 1944, taken a little bit earlier today:

Bit of a disappointing weekend down here really with the persistent cloud. No doubt we'll have clear skies tomorrow when I'm back at work!

I think the northern parts of the region took the lions share of the sun today. Gorgeous here and at 23C nice and warm too.

Better chance for the south tomorrow with a more continental flow. Fog might be an issue too.

hi all heres what tomorrow shows

Posted Image

note the centre of the high pressure

this was close to the south today which would not have helped when looking for sun

note tomorrow it is sitting close to the kent coast

this i feel will create cloud for most of the south east again and the further west you are the more likely you will be to see some sun

fog likely kent coastal and stretching to yarmouth which could be reluctant to quickly clear

certainly dry

Posted Image

temps 22-25 all sunshine related

will feel humid again where cloud persists

be back soon when the updates come through

I second that Matt, I'm just a couple of miles from you and it's been a very disappoinging weekend. The temperature has now reached 19c though.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and that those with hangovers are recovering, no sympathy from me, just jealousy Posted Image

Although it's been on the warm side this weekend - temps reaching around 18 - it has been a disappointingly cloudy couple of days. Had breakfast at the Shard this morning; the views from the 32nd floor really are lovely, and I viewed the greyish gloom as autumnal despite the reasonable temperatures outside. From the train, we could see the top part of the Shard was shrouded in cloud, so perhaps the 32nd floor was the better choice rather than the top!

Back home now.  The sun, displaying a warped sense of humour, has just come out.  At 6:25pm, about an hour before it will be dark.  I suppose you think that's clever, do you?!  Well?  And you can wipe that cheesy yellow grin off your face while you're at it!  I shall be bringing this up with your parents.  Who are they, again?  What?  Mr and Mrs Big Bang, indeed? You'll be in detention sonny, as soon as I can find a room big enough.

Welll, the cloud finally disappeared at about half 5. It now appears to be warmer than it's been all weekend.

I mentioned something similar in one of my recent posts CR, it's been doing that a lot here recently.

Well, what a thoroughly miserable, gloomy, drab day! Not one second of sunshine today. (And only a few minutes yesterday.)

The sky did not change colour one iota! Just a monotonous slate grey all day long. Yuk yuk yuk! (Made even worse by the humidity.) Max temp this afternoon was 18.6°. Not too bad for an overcast late September day, I suppose.

Oh well, fingers crossed for at least five seconds of sunshine tomorrow. Or do the synoptics suggest that's unlikely in Kent? I hope not - I need some sun!

Have a good evening, folks.
