Yes PPN has really increased in the last hour over the SW, but the wait continues to see if they produce anything thundery!

Personally I can't see there being anything thundery in the SW tonight, there was a bit of thundery activity late this morning and now the SE is having there turn.not a single sferic in the SW and will probably stay that way but that's just my opinion.

I have been radar / sat, lightning detector watching. Kent storm magnet as expected. I can say thanks to the radars or I would have been window watching for hours with the radio crackling on LW! and probably not have seen any lightning as to far away and cloud ahead of it. Still like to listen to the crackles though. Not got LW on my radio I have now, always enjoyed doing that could even hear the French storms crackle for hours!

Someone I know in Crawley area watched some lightning around 8pm with the info relayed to me!

"Kent storm magnet as expected"

OK I didn't expect such a miss of the main action this evening!

Some very active lightening to my East at the moment. No thunder but lots of lightening. Oh and I should be asleep now

New development can see on the image here (lightning detector)

Flash, flash, flash. Mostly electrical as no rain or thunder

You are probably seeing lightning from over Dorset way, hence the no thunder or rain. Good that the rain in the SW is turning thundery though, could bode well for more of us as the night wears on.

I wonder why that does not show up on the netweather extra detector?

Getting closer, lightning quite frequent. Some very bright echoes moving into South Somerset on radar.

A few flashes and cracks of thunder and some steady rain, well we got something here which in itself is a miracle.

Yeah, it's very near now, thunder quite loud. No rain as yet but it looks like that will change very soon.

EDIT: Pouring down now
