biblical rain here in thundersley now. ridiculous really!!

55.8mm in Rayleigh and still falling - Southend seafront flooded between the Pier and the Kursaal...  Fear this will get quite serious soon..

Torrential rain here in Croydon and our SIS/SKY signal has gone down.

Not even going to attempt to get to Tescos, for my evening sandwich!

Must be some impressive rainful totals piling up along the Thames corridor, east of London. Looks as if parts of Kent, now joining in too.

Tom.

If otters had pockets, it would be a great place to keep spare change but not notes as they'd get wet.

I can confirm that it is wetter than an otter's pocket.

If they had them.

We must live in a microclimate here in thanet as we have had some rain yes, but not torrential as some of you are reporting, in fact it is cloudy but dry and quite pleasant......amazing !!!Posted Image

Been heavy rain here on and off, and just had a gust of wind that blew the gathered rain off the gazebo roof and threw it against our patio door. Feels muggy to me, but might just be me!

Stepping up a gear now,*persisting* it down!

Ditto here to your east!

Think my friends made the right decision to cancel their BBQ! I've kept my mouth shut all week about me thinking they should cancel, because every single time I give 'cancel' or 'go ahead' advice to people, the weather doesn't play ball. And I end up with egg on my face! So I kept my mouth shut about today, and of course I would have been right had I spoken up. Typical!

Dry as a bone here on the IOW - strangely enough, I feel like I am missing out on all this rain you lot are having back home - hope you get a rumble or 20 of thunder (for those of you that enjoy storms!)

Well just got back from venturing out (needs must) and my word what a ridiculous amount of rain in the Rayleigh/Thundersley  area. Rayleigh Weir underpass closed and the roundabout just passable. The back garden has flooded areas. Looking at the rainfall radar we've been stuck under the oscillating heavy rain mass all day as a thin slither so I can well understand everyone's elses surprise as to mine and Danny's reports today. Quite amazing really.

EDIT and here we go again another blob of intense rainfall!

F-ecking rain!

loads of it all day, bucket loads of it from 07:00 onwards, raods here were flooded and it just never stopped.  Been in a marquee all day running a stll at a steam rally, sodding weather killed the crowds today, think if we set fire to our money we would be better off!
